So, I didn't want watch the Emmys last night but I did wake up to some amazing news regarding the awards show- Viola Davis, Regina King and Uzo Aduba all won Emmys last night. Why is this relevant? Because all three of these women are phenomenal, talented BLACK women and it is instantly refreshing to see them get the praise they deserve for their work. Bout damn time! Speaking of black women and their amazingness- 7 Black Women have taken over the covers of multiple September issues of major magazines. I am especially thrilled about this because I hate when I am waiting in line at the grocery store, or wherever and all I see on the newsstand is NON-black faces. Well, not this month.
